Phi Chi Epsilon is the oldest local fraternity in the state of Wisconsin. Founded on April 21st, 1921 on the ideals of brotherhood, character and endeavor. Phi Chi Epsilon seeks to contribute to one's academic achievement and their professional success outside of the UW-Whitewater campus.
Phi Chi Epsilon is also the oldest active fraternity (originally called the Epsilonian) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, secretly founded on October 28th 1920, branching off of Alpha Sigma Sorority based on our military roots but later formally established on April 21st 1921 by Clark Larkin, Clyde Jungbluth, William Olson and Leonard J. Sheahan. With our first pledge being Dwight M. Warner, Henry Van Duser shortly following him. Phi Chi Epsilon is proud to represent their fraternity colors, black and gold, as well as they are proud to represent the skunk as their fraternity animal. Our flower is the yellow tea rose. When combined with our longevity, the history of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater is filled with ties to Phi Chi Epsilon which make us an irreplaceable asset to the community combined with the strong alumni presence maintained within the city, it is hard to turn anywhere and not see an alumni or member of Phi Chi Epsilon. For additional information about the history or rituals of Phi Chi Epsilon please look on their alumni website here. |
